Things — Privacy Policy

Last updated July 13, 2026

Things is a text-message party game played over SMS among a small, private group of friends. This policy explains what information we collect and how we use it when you play. There is no account or signup involved — players are identified solely by phone number.

What we collect

Your phone number, the display name you choose in-game, and gameplay data (answers, guesses, and scores) exchanged as part of playing.

How we use it

To run the game — sending prompts, relaying messages between players, tracking scores — and to respond to HELP and STOP requests.

Sharing

We do not sell your information.

We do not share your phone number, mobile opt-in status, or SMS content with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All the categories of information described above exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

Service provider

We use Twilio solely as our SMS delivery platform to send and receive the game's text messages. Twilio is not a marketing or promotional third party — it acts only as our messaging infrastructure provider, processes this data solely to deliver messages on our behalf, and does not use it for its own marketing purposes.

Retention

We keep your information for as long as you continue playing. You can ask us to delete your data at any time — see Contact below.

Opting out

Text STOP at any time to stop receiving game messages.
